The middle ear implant is an electronic device that is placed in the middle ear (ossicles chain, round window) during surgery, designed to help deaf patients, who obtain little or no benefit from conventional hearing aids. No need for mold in the external auditory canal. It consists of two main parts: an internal one that is called a middle ear implant and an external one that is a language processor. There are fully implantable devices that do not require a visible external part.
